T-HELP Nepal’s major focus is on environmental conservation, adaptation to climate change and preservation of natural and cultural heritages, while improving livelihood opportunities of the local people. To fulfill its goals, T-HELP’s Nepal’s programs fall under the following broad categories:
Promoting Sustainable Ecotourism along the Himalayan Regions:
Nepal’s natural and cultural environment is central to the country’s tourism industry. For over a century, mountaineers have traveled from around the globe to climb the Himalayan peaks and, to this day, the country remains one of the prime destinations for adventure seekers.
Promoting Organic Agriculture Practices:
Regarding the promotion of organic agriculture practices, T-HELP Nepal’s program focus on building capacities of the local communities on vermicomposting, organic farming, producing organic pesticides and organic fertilizers while also assisting the local communities on sustainable and environmental-friendly agriculture practices.
Business Skills and Market Linkages:
T-HELP Nepal helps to identify market sources for the beneficiaries such as cooperatives, hoat bazaars, and the upcoming organic farmers’ markets. Our programs also work to identify potential tourism clients such as religious and cultural groups, domestic tourists while promoting new products.
Research and Development:
T-HELP Nepal invests in research and studies on environmental issues, alternative technologies, alternative tourism destinations and other ways to promote and to diversify tourism products and destinations in Nepal and beyond. For such research and studies, T-HELP Nepal collaborates with various government and private organizations.
